This is a guest post from Jason Butler who runs the popular blog, My Money Chronicles. Jason is a financial aid counselor by day and a blogger/side hustler by night. Jason is going to tell us about the best things to sell on eBay for Profit:
Side hustles are helping me eliminate my student loan debt. One of my favorite and most lucrative side hustles is selling things on eBay. I’ve been selling things on there on and off for 10 years.
I’ve been doing it seriously for about 2 years now. I list and sell items during my spare time and I make $500 – $800 per month doing it. People ask me all the time, “What are the best items to flip on eBay?” In this post, I want to share with you ten items that you can flip on eBay for money. These are simply the best things to sell on eBay for a profit.
1) Sports Jerseys
The first item on the list is sports jerseys. Over the years, I’ve sold basketball, football, baseball, hockey and, soccer jerseys. There is a huge market out there for them. There are sports fans all over the world.
They could be looking for the exact jersey that you’re selling. You can make money on collegiate and pro jerseys. Popular teams and players make the most money.
2) Michael Jordan Sneakers
Michael Jordan hasn’t played an NBA game since 2003, but his shoes are still hot sellers. Believe it or not, some of them can sell for thousands of bucks. There are different models of Jordan’s out there. Some sell better than others. The best sellers are the ones that are numbered 1-20. If you’re a sneakerhead, you know what I mean. If not, a quick google search can show you that info.
3) Apple Items
The resale market is crazy when it comes to Apple items. A lot of people LOVE Apple. They will spend hundreds if not thousands for an item each year. It doesn’t matter if it’s an iPhone or an iPad, it will sell. Even broken items can make you some money. A couple of years ago, I sold an iPhone with a cracked screen for $100.
4) Board Games
I started selling board games in late 2017. I wish I would have started earlier. People will buy new or used games. I’ve sold board games that didn’t even have all the pieces. If you decide to do that, just make sure that you let people know that info in the description. Clue and Candyland are two games that I’ve recently sold. Vintage and rare games are also two types that you should look to sell as well.
5) Running Shoes
Running shoes are another easy seller. For years, I only focused on selling Jordan’s and other basketball shoes. I left money out there by not paying attention to running shoes.
You can make a couple of hundred bucks on running shoes from shoe hero, depending on the brand of the shoe. Some popular running brands out there are Asics, Etonics, New Balance and Hoka One One.
I found out about the Hoka One One brand in 2018. I saw an eBay seller on Instagram talking about them so I decided to do some research I saw a lot of them selling on eBay for $80 and up. The next weekend I found my first pair in a thrift store for $6. I was able to flip them for $60! Since then, they’ve become one of my favorite items to source.
6) Supreme Clothing
Supreme is a clothing brand that was established in 1994. The millennials love it. Anything with the Supreme logo on it has the potential to make money. I recently saw a red supreme crowbar sell for a couple hundred bucks. That’s crazy to me! I’m currently in the process trying to find one of those crowbars lol.
7) Bobbleheads
Bobbleheads are collectors’ items. In most cases, there is a limited edition on the amount that is made. Depending on the team or the player it is, the bobblehead can be a hot commodity. I’ve had a few bobbleheads that I’ve paid $5-$7 for sale for $40-$50. That’s a pretty good return. It doesn’t have to be just sports though. Movie character and political bobbleheads can sell for a pretty penny as well.
8) Fubu Jerseys
Don’t laugh, but believe it or not, Fubu jerseys are a good seller. I’ve sold three in the last four months. They all have sold for more than $30. Maybe Fubu is making a comeback. If you have a Fubu jersey, or if you can find some, list them on eBay.
9) Christmas Items
Christmas related items can sell for a good price. Decorations, clothing and special Christmas branded merchandise sell year round. People really love the Christmas holiday and it shows. Take a moment to search for Christmas items and then look at the sold listing. If you see something Christmas related that has sold recently, grab it and list on your eBay account.
10) Coogi Sweaters
The last item to flip on eBay is Coogi sweaters. Coogi is a popular Australian brand. One of their most famous articles of clothing is the Coogi sweater. For years, rappers from Biggie Smalls to Rick Ross have worn them. That helped the brand’s popularity grow.
You can find Coogi sweaters selling for hundreds of bucks on eBay. I’ve been lucky enough to sell one before. If you have one or are lucky enough to find one, list it if you want to make some quick cash.
These ten items are some of the best items to sell on eBay. When I’m looking for merchandise to sell, I’m looking for these. Of course, there are other items to sell on eBay.
I wrote this post a few years ago, that features 100 things to sell on eBay. Check it out when you get a chance. It has things that you probably didn’t even consider selling. If anyone has any eBay questions feel free to contact me. I’m active on social media on Twitter and Instagram.
